Some major changes are happening for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and The Royal Foundation. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will establish their own charitable foundation separate from Prince William and Kate Middleton, and that means some behind-the-scenes changes.

Along with the change announced on July 20 comes the loss of existing Royal Foundation CEO, Lorraine Heggessey. She will step down from her role at the end of September with Jason Knauf, former press secretary for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, taking over Oct. 1.

Their Royal Highnesses issued a statement in response to the matter on Tuesday.

"Lorraine has played an integral role in our charitable initiatives over the last two and a half years. We are very grateful for her hard work and support and wish her the very best for the future," Prince William and Kate said in a statement, according to Hello.

"We are pleased that Jason has been appointed as CEO and very much look forward to working with him in his new role."

Prince Harry and Meghan also spoke out about Lorraine's decision to leave.

"It has been a great pleasure to work alongside Lorraine over the past couple of years, to champion the causes that we feel so strongly about, and we wish her well for the next stage of her career."
