Meghan Markle’s unresolved issues with her father affected the way the public appreciates her and Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are among the most popular royals. The crowd has been very warm and welcoming to the couple. However, royal biographer author Penny Junor warned Prince Harry and Markle about losing the public’s goodwill toward them due to the pregnant royal’s unresolved issues with her dad, Thomas Markle Sr.

"They seem to have lost some of the goodwill and admiration that was so wholehearted when they married, and Meghan's failure to sort things out with her father has been a huge mistake, in my view,” Junor told the Press Association.

"We obviously don't know the truth about her relationship with him - it seems beyond extraordinary that Harry has never met him - but having him give interviews in which he says that she hasn't spoken to him or made contact with him since the wedding is incredibly damaging," the royal author added.

Markle Sr. revealed that he had made several attempts to contact Prince Harry and Markle through text messages and letters. Unfortunately, the couple continued to keep their silence.

According to Junor, if the negative things continue, Prince Harry and Markle will definitely be affected. It will make them “less charming” and it’s sad because the pair makes a “great double act.”

A number of royal experts have been encouraging Markle to speak to her dad. Robert Jobson also urged the duchess to make an effort in resolving her issues with Markle Sr.

Jobson reminded Markle that her father is already 74 and has heart problems. He also talked about the pain of losing a parent and not having them back once they’re gone.

Even Markle’s half-sister, Samantha, and half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., pleaded for her to speak with their father. However, Markle remains stiff. She still didn’t talk to her father on Christmas.

Samantha spoke with Daily Star and expressed her disappointment about Markle’s decision to ignore their father. She urged Markle to reflect on her precious life and remember her father who has been a Santa her entire life. She also added that unlike Markle, “even the grinch grew a heart.”
