Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry married in 2018, the couple has been dismissing royal traditions and making up their own rules. However, it appears the Duke and Duchess of Sussex no longer trusts the advice they receive from the royal family and is leaning on Doria Ragland for guidance.

After Meghan gave birth to baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, her mother, Doria, has been helping her daughter adjust to her new roles as a mother and member of the royal family.

While the former “Suits” star has a close relationship with her mom, a royal insider believes Doria has a greater influence over Meghan and Prince Harry than palace aides.

“Harry adores Doria and thinks she’s incredibly wise. These days, the Sussexes trust very, very few people even in their own respective families,” the source told the Daily Mail.

“Doria is one of the last family members either of them can turn to, and consequently, she’s extremely influential in their lives,” the tipster continued.

Since Meghan joined the royal family, she has faced a wave of backlash from the public. The negative attention has reportedly caused her mother to take a more active role in her daughter’s life.

“People think Doria is hippy-dippy and chilled out because she’s a yoga instructor, but like any mother, she’s hard as nails when it comes to protecting her daughter,” the insider explained.

“Meghan’s nickname is Tungsten, and she inherited that steely determination from Doria who is, at Meghan’s request, very hands-on in her life,” the source added.

Although Doria lives in Los Angeles, she keeps in constant contact with Meghan, who has asked for her mother’s advice on motherhood, staff concerns and living arrangements.

Lately, Meghan and Prince Harry have come under fire for their attempts to hide information about baby Archie from the public and protect their privacy. Even though some may disagree with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decisions, it appears the couple will be able to count on having Doria’s support in the future.
