When Meghan Markle first married Prince Harry, she received more praise than criticism about her dismissal of royal traditions. However, since she gave birth to baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the couple has come under fire for their efforts to protect his privacy.

Meghan and Harry have been shielding Archie from too much media exposure, unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton, who have compromised by sharing personal photos with the press.

Richard Fitzwilliams told Express UK that Meghan and Prince Harry are creating more problems for themselves by trying to keep details about Archie private. “It’s a real goldfish bowl. Any member of the Royal Family expects global interest,” he explained.

“When you have Meghan, who is unique, particularly with what she has to give and given her background as a senior member of the Royal Family, you would expect the scale of interest, there is no doubt about it.”

While Fitzwilliams seemed confident Archie will grow up, and publically carry out his royal duties, the commentator claimed Meghan and Harry are too focused on the baby’s privacy. “Obviously, we don’t know what he will be doing, and we don’t know what their plans for him are,” he said.

“Also, there is a lot we still have to learn, as far as patronages are concerned and so far, as trips abroad are concerned. But, it is perfectly obvious what issues they are concentrating on, and it is also obvious of the importance of these,” the expert continued.

Due to Meghan and Harry’s position, Fitzwilliams claimed they should expect the public to be curious about their life with baby Archie.

“Obviously, I don’t know what the Queen herself thinks, but there is no question that anyone who joins the Royal Family, as a senior member, and it is the world’s most high profile Royal Family, the interest is nothing short of phenomenal, and always will be,” the commentator shared.

Fitzwilliams noted that Archie should be given a chance to have a regular childhood, but Meghan and Harry haven’t been going about it the right way.

“This is the problem regarding Archie, so to speak, as a ‘private citizen’, obviously, he must be given the chance, as William and Harry had, and those were in the days of the paparazzi - as George, Charlotte and Louis, the same sort of arrangements, that for some access, and we had wonderful photos at the polo, for example, you get privacy. That is absolutely essential.”

While the royal expert believes Meghan and Prince Harry can still make a change, at the moment, it appears they are content with their current decisions.
