Meghan Markle reportedly wants a superhero movie with Disney, but she might not get what she wants.

In January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. Prince Harry and Markle also said that they would work to be financially independent. Following their bombshell announcement she reportedly scored a voiceover job for Disney, but she wanted more.

Markle reportedly wants to star in a superhero movie following the success of “Avengers.” The duchess wants to follow the footsteps of Scarlett Johansson, who plays The Black Widow, in the popular superhero movie.

However, a top Disney executive revealed that Disney is not that interested. In fact, it was Markle who needed Disney more.

“Meghan needs Disney more than Disney needs Meghan. She's a controversial figure,” the Disney executive told Caroline Graham of The Mail on Sunday. “There have been reports of a deal but that's not true beyond the voiceover work.”

Markle has reportedly asked her agent Nick Collins to field for a potential superhero role for her. Collins has been saying that Markle is available and open for the best offers.

Initially, there was a stigma attached to Marvel films, but they have become the biggest market in the world and the Duchess of Sussex wants it. Aside from Johansson, Jessica Alba, Margot Robbie, Jennifer Lawrence and Halle Berry have all starred in superhero movies. However, it might not be easy for Markle as many felt that her acting skills were under par.

“She knows she can't carry a film as an actress. People won't be able to get past the fact she's Meghan Markle. But she's determined to act again and she thinks a big, ensemble film is the way to go… something that pays big but which doesn't put her front and centre,” an insider said.

Meanwhile, Dan Wootton slammed Prince Harry and Markle after they fired back at Queen Elizabeth II’s decision banning them from using the “Sussex Royal” brand. According to Wootton the couple’s rhetoric against the Queen was “despicable” and “unacceptable.”
