  • Meghan Markle teamed up with Disney before announcing her exit from her royal duties
  • Meghan Markle's income from her voice over stint will be donated to charity
  • Prince Harry informed Prince Charles about his plan but the latter wanted to discuss it in person

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were already planning on quitting their royal duties for quite some time before they made an official announcement.

And it has now been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex already took part in a job that other members of the royal family have been banned from doing for years.

According to The Times, the “Suits” alum signed a voiceover deal with Disney while she was still considered a senior royal. In fact, Markle already completed her work with the company, and the money that she was able to raise will go directly to Elephant Without Borders.

The organization helps track and protect elephants from poaching, and the cause has been very close to Prince Harry.

Despite Prince Harry and Markle’s attempt to help the organizations that they feel invested in, they were still accused of cheapening the royal brand and compromising themselves for money.

Last Christmas, some members of the royal family had tense talks over what Prince Harry and Markle want to do, and they were convinced that the latter already signed a deal with Disney.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry informed Prince Charles beforehand regarding his and Markle’s plan to separate from the royal family. Contrary to rumors, the Duke of Sussex emailed his dad his proposal, but Prince Charles and his staff found it completely incoherent.

“It reached an impasse where his father said, ‘We need to have these conversations in person. This is not something we can negotiate over email,’” a source said.

Prince Harry also wanted to talk to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, but she wasn’t available when he called her. But Her Majesty reportedly asked his grandson not to make an announcement before things are ironed out. Unfortunately, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still pushed through with their plans.

Meanwhile, a source told US Weekly that Prince William was also hurt by the news especially since it came out just a few hours before Kate Middleton’s 38th birthday.

The source said that what made things more difficult for Prince William is the fact that when he and Prince Harry were younger, the latter would always consult him regarding his big decisions.
