Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just announced their decision to step back from being senior royals.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that they will continue to support Queen Elizabeth, but they will also work to become financially independent from the British clan.

Prince Harry, Markle, and their son Archie will also be traveling back and forth from London to North America. The royal couple’s announcement drew a slew of criticisms on social media.

Some royal fans blamed Markle for convincing Prince Harry to leave the royal family. But there are also some netizens who are blaming the latter for not informing his grandmother about their major decision.

“I wish Harry and Megan all the best but if, as has been suggested, they didn't tell the Queen of their impending announcement I blame Harry. He was born into Royalty and knows the drill. Tell the Queen first. Naughty naughty!” Twitter user @CarlaAI77089954 said.

“The recent news about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reminds me of one important fact about the British Royals: I don’t give a [expletive],” Twitter user @EamonnMorris said.

“My two words: Meghan Markle & Prince Harry: Get out! @piersmorgan,” Twitter user @realBrianReid said.

Meanwhile, one royal fan also predicted that Prince Harry and Markle will experience the same accident that killed Princess Diana after she and Prince Charles got divorced.

“Shocked and saddened to hear of the vehicular accident Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got into next week,” Twitter user @JamieHJ1 said.

Some royal fans showed their support for the royal couple and said that they have all the right to quit the institution that hasn’t protected them.

“Let’s not forget that in 2016, Prince Harry sent an open letter to the media about their racial undertones and harassment of his girlfriend, Meghan Markle. He’s just as worried now as he was back then. The media are directly to blame for them [expletive] off,” Twitter user @Vixxylixxy said.

“And maybe, just maybe, Harry, a man who loves his wife very much, is sick and tired of seeing the British press so vehemently hound his wife with slander every single day that he has decided to protect her,” Twitter user @RheannaBoyes said.
