Meghan Markle recently sparked discussion among royal fans. The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly toning down her image while she’s in South Africa.

On the online forum site Quora, one royal fan said that it’s surprising for Prince Harry’s wife to leave her wedding ring “at home.” It is also very rare for the “Suits” alum to wear low-cost dresses or to re-wear her previous attire.

But all of these Markle was able to do within just a span of three days in South Africa. Royal fan Eileen Wood asked the person who posted the question of how she knows that Markle left her wedding ring at home. She also said that what Markle did isn’t surprising and it doesn’t mean that she’s toning her image down.

“How do you know her engagement ring is at home? It could be in her jewelry case. She’s in South Africa right now. The main stone from her ring is from Botswana. Maybe it was thought better not to wave around a stone from Botswana in South Africa. Lost cost dress… remember Catherine and her $39 off-the-rack dress? As for wearing previously worn dresses, that’s something all the Royals do and have always done,” she said.

James Gracie said that he cannot believe how people make a big fuss about every single thing that Markle does and doesn’t do, as well as what she wears and doesn’t wear.

“She can’t win. People question her wearing expensive clothing, then when she doesn’t, they’re suspicious. What does she have to do to stop narky people commenting on her clothes?” the royal fan wondered.

In the past, Prince Harry’s wife also drew criticism for wearing expensive pieces of clothing. During this time, she was compared to Kate Middleton, who has been wearing more affordable pieces ever since she joined the royal family.

Markle was also slammed for changing her engagement ring, but Princess Diana also did the same thing years ago.
