  • Liam McEwan posted a clip of his interview with Prince on Twitter

Prince Michael Jackson, son of the late music icon Michael Jackson, gave praises to the K-Pop boy band and global sensation BTS for the latter's subtle tribute to some of his father’s biggest hits.

Celebrity interviewer Liam McEwan talked to Prince Thursday about his charity work for Heal Los Angeles Foundation and in one part of the interview, he asked the 24-year-old son of the late pop icon regarding his thoughts on “Butter” and the dance steps of another BTS track, “Dynamite.”

McEwan began the interview saying, “Obviously, they’ve taken huge influence from your dad like 'Dynamite,' the choreography was very MJ influenced and…one of their latest songs, 'Butter' starts with ‘smooth like butter, like a criminal undercover,' already getting that 'Smooth Criminal' reference in there, when you see acts like that doing their own thing and tributing your dad in such a nice way but doing it in their own kind of way, that must make you thrilled."

Prince immediately agreed to McEwan and said, “Definitely. Their music kinda transcends culture and everything like that. They are interesting.” He added that BTS is a “once-in-a-lifetime act.”

The young philanthropist also mentioned the "gratifying” and "heartwarming" way BTS members pay respect and homage to his father’s legacy through their music.

He also noted that just like his father, the Bangtan Boys are trendsetters of the modern era.

"And also, it’s super cool to see that my father was a trendsetter and that you can see that how they’re kinda continuing those trends but also adapting them to the modern era and then doing it their own way. It’s really cool just to continue that creative flow," Prince said.

“It’s really cool especially when they are so dang talented,” McEwan said by the end of the topic.

McEwan tweeted a snippet of his interview talking about the elder Jackson's influence on the South Korean superstars.

"Michael Jackson’s son, Prince Michael, speaks about his father’s influence on @BTS_twt," he captioned his tweet.

Born Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Prince is the oldest of the late superstar’s three children.

Growing up, he said he had no clue how famous his father was although he would often wonder why people would follow them around when they go out. He said he was 10 or 11 when he saw a video of his father performing before a huge crowd, some of whom fainting during the performance.

Prince says it was his biggest "A-ha! moment" regarding his father's celebrity status.

"He was performing outside and you just see this sea of people, and there are people fainting in the audience. I asked my dad I'm like, 'Why were they fainting? I see you every day and I don't faint,” Prince told Today in an interview.
