Michelle Obama previously shared a hilarious detail about her marriage to Barack Obama.

During her appearance on the “Tonight Show,” the former first lady revealed that she encouraged the former POTUS to go to marriage counseling with her because she thought that it would fix Barack.

At that time, the ex-FLOTUS thought that she was the perfect one in her marriage. But it didn’t take her very long to realize that she also had some work to do.

“I was one of those wives who thought, ‘I’m taking you to marriage counseling so you can be fixed, Barack Obama.’ Because I was like, ‘I’m perfect.’ I was like, ‘Dr. X, please fix him.’ And then, our counselor looked over at me. I was like, ‘What are you looking at? I'm perfect,’” she said.

The former FLOTUS admitted that marriage counseling was a turning point for her because this was when she realized that it wasn’t up to her husband to make her happy. Michelle learned how to fill me up and put herself higher on her priority list.

The ex-FLOTUS also said that she knows a lot of people look at her and her husband and think that they are relationship goals. But what they want couples to realize is that marriage requires hard work.

"I don’t want young people to quit the minute they have a hardship. Because I always say, ‘Look, if you’re married for 50 years, and 10 of them are horrible, you’re doing really good.’ Anybody would take those odds,” she said.

Meanwhile, the former first lady has also been making headlines amid rumors that she could still run for president. Recent polls revealed that there’s a chance for Barack’s wife to win in next year’s race. However, Michelle previously said that she won’t run for president because she’s not interested in politics. She’s simply married to someone who is.
