The death of L’Wren Scott at 49, an apparent suicide, was met with widespread shock and grief Monday. She was Mick Jagger’s girlfriend of more than a decade, but the 6-foot-4 stunner was more than just a pretty face; she was a fashion designer whose clothes adorned A-list actors at Hollywood events. As the Rolling Stones legend released a statement through a publicist, others who knew the Utah native took to the Internet to share their condolences.

Madonna, who was found of wearing Scott’s fashion designs, told the Associated Press she was devastated to learn of the former model’s death. "This is a horrible and tragic loss," said Madonna. "I'm so upset. I loved L'Wren's work and she was always so generous with me."

Also speaking out was Bianca Jagger, who was married to the British rocker from 1971 to 1978.

Model Bo Derek sent a message in the wake of Scott's tragedy: there's always help.

The AP added that Scott, whose real name was Luann Bambrough, had canceled her fashion show in London last month because of production delays, but there was no further information. The Daily Mail reported the designer was “embarrassed and millions in debt” when she committed suicide.

Jagger is currently on tour with the Stones in Australia. It’s unclear if the band will continue with their tour. He was reportedly “devastated” to hear the news, and when the Daily Mail asked if he was still with Scott at the time of her death her reportedly answered “of course.”

Scott was found hanging in her New York apartment by her assistant on Monday morning. No foul play is suspected and a suicide note has not been discovered.
