  • Undefeated boxing legend Joe Calzaghe claims Mike Tyson isn't gonna come back
  • Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua both agreed to fight Tyson in his return
  • Joshua ruled out the idea of facing Tyson because of fears of being booed by fans

An undefeated boxing legend thinks the resurgent Mike Tyson isn’t really making a boxing return.

Tyson’s highly anticipated boxing return has been the buzz around the heavyweight division in the past few weeks. Both UK’s best heavyweight fighters Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have agreed to face “Iron Mike” in his return but another British boxing Hall of Famer Joe Calzaghe has a different take on the subject.

In a recent interview with BT Sport Boxing, Calzaghe, the former WBO, WBA and WBC Super Middleweight champion, was asked to comment about Tyson’s promising boxing comeback. But while many are convinced that the 53-year-old is already preparing for his ring return, Calzaghe thinks that Tyson will not step inside the squared circle anytime soon.

The undefeated legend also noted that should Tyson really makes a comeback, he would only be good for an exhibition match.

“I don’t think Mike Tyson is gonna come back. Maybe if he comes back in an exhibition, I think that’s okay but I wouldn’t want to see Mike Tyson fight, no way,” Calzaghe said.

Amid Tyson’s exhibition match talks, current heavyweight champs Fury and Joshua both stated that they will be happy to be his opponent. For Calzaghe, should the shorter “Iron Mike” faces the 6-foot-7 Fury, reach advantage will surely be a factor. However, the “ Pride of Wales Italian Dragon ” also respects Tyson’s power and admitted that he’s not sure about the outcome given the huge differences.

“That’ll be fun. It’s a bit of a size difference. (Fury will have) reach advantage but I’m not sure,” Calzaghe said of Tyson vs. Fury match.

Joshua on the other hand, has recently ruled out the idea of facing the legendary Tyson on his return.

In an interview with The Sun, the two-time unified heavyweight champ said he is certain no one from the crowd would want to see a current heavyweight champion dismantling an all-time great like Tyson. “AJ” fears that “people would boo” and he will be the only person cheering after beating “Iron Mike.”

"With all due respect, I wouldn't [fight Tyson]. Even if I fought Iron Mike and beat him, I think I'd be the only one cheering. People would boo. He is a legend. He is the greatest boxer of the modern era. There are only two recognized champions the world knows of, [Muhammad] Ali and Mike Tyson, the most recognized faces in the world when it comes to boxing." Joshua predicted.
