Miley Cyrus, who identifies as queer, talked about exploring her sexuality at a young age in a recent interview. The singer said that her first kiss was with a girl when she was in middle school.

Cyrus has always been strong advocate of the LGBTQ+ community, and in a recent interview, she talked about her own journey of exploring her sexuality, People reported. The singer recalled how no one in Nashville, including her parents, understood her. The issue was her first relationship, which was with a girl.

“So I had that relationship. And I was one of the only kids on Disney that would come out and say that I supported all my gay friends,” Cyrus said.

The singer did not get such support from people that she considered important.

Talking about the LGBTQ+ community, Cyrus explained that apart from the sexuality, the community is about loving oneself. The singer identifies as queer, but she is married to actor Liam Hemsworth. She previously said that she hated the term “bisexual” and that she doesn’t think about a person’s gender when it comes to a relationship.

While Cyrus and Hemsworth’s relationship has been growing stronger over the years, there have been false rumors about the couple. Gossip Cop debunked one such rumor recently that suggested that the actor was not happy about his wife supposedly regressing to her wild old ways. Any suggestion of marital problems between the two celebrities is not true.

While Cyrus has been a controversial figure, she has also won praise for her talents. In a recent interview, her ex-boyfriend, Nick Jonas, called her a “real singer,” US Weekly reported.

Jonas explained that Cyrus was 16 years old when she sang “Before the Storm” with the Jonas brothers. The “Jumanji” actor said that he knew then that his ex was talented, and now that people are warming up to her singing chops, he simply commented, “told you so.”
