It has been 15 years since Miley Cyrus' career-launching show "Hannah Montana" made its debut on the Disney Channel. But how much has the pop star made since hanging up her blonde Hannah Montana wig in 2011 and entering the music scene as Miley?

Cyrus is worth a staggering $160 million as of 2020, Celebrity Net Worth reported. She started taking on TV show and movie roles from a young age, making appearances in her father Billy Ray Cyrus' series "Doc" in 2001 and the 2003 film "Big Fish." But it was her Disney Channel hit that launched her to stardom and got her her first big paycheck.

"Hannah Montana" allowed Cyrus to showcase not only her acting chops but also her genetically-inherited talent in singing and performing. Cyrus, who was only 13 when the show premiered in 2006, earned $15,000 per episode while playing Miley Stewart and her pop star alter ego Hannah Montana, Business Insider reported.

However, she didn't only make money from the show itself. Cyrus also released several albums, went on tours and sold a ton of Hannah Montana merchandise. According to the New York Post, the singer-actress made five times her per-episode salary in a single concert during her Hannah Montana days.

Her 2008 album "Breakout" was a massive hit and topped the Billboard 200 chart after selling 371,000 copies in its first week. Her single "Party in the U.S.A.," from her 2009 EP "The Time of Our Lives," went on to become one of the best-selling singles of all time.

Cyrus reinvented herself after her Disney Channel show ended. She released four more studio albums: “Bangerz,” “Younger Now,” “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz” and the 2020 release “Plastic Hearts.” She has also since taken on more acting roles, starring in “The Last Song,” “LOL” and “So Undercover.”

Despite her shorter career, Cyrus’ net worth far surpasses her father and country singer-actor Billy Ray Cyrus' earnings.

With 16 albums and several TV shows and films under his belt, Billy Ray has an estimated net worth of $20 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth. He is known for his best selling single “Achy Breaky Heart,” which topped charts in several countries when it was released in 1992, and for playing Miley’s father in “Hannah Montana.”

On Wednesday, Miley wrote a letter to her character Hannah Montana to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the sitcom’s first episode.

"You were like a rocket that flew me to the moon and never brought me back down," she wrote in the letter she shared on Twitter. "Breathing life into you for those 6 years was an honor. I am indebted not only to you Hannah but to any and everyone who believed in me from the beginning."
