Authorities in Georgia are searching for a mother of two who disappeared while out running errands and planned to meet a friend.

Alecia Newsom, 22, was reported missing Wednesday night after leaving her home in Haralson County, Georgia, to see a doctor. The last reported contact she had with anyone was with her mother, who she texted before leaving. According to the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, Newsom told her mother she was going to pick up a friend and head to the Walmart in nearby Bremen.

“She last texted her mother on Wednesday saying she was going to the home of Don Cox to take him grocery shopping,” the sheriff’s office wrote in an update on its Facebook page. “We have been out to the Cox residence three times with negative contact with anyone.”

A missing notice also revealed that this was the longest Newsom has ever left her two children alone.

Investigators have failed to pick up a possible location as Newsom’s phone was turned off. Any contact she had with friends and family had also ended.

“She left in a 2004 light blue Chevy AVEO with GA tag RTR9111,” the post said.

Newsom is 5-foot-4 and weighs about 190 pounds.
