Police are asking for help in locating a woman who disappeared a week ago from the Columbia, Missouri, apartment she shared with her husband and infant daughter.

Mengqi Ji Elledge, 28, was last seen when the family went to sleep Oct. 8. Her husband told police she was gone when he woke around 5 a.m. last Wednesday. He filed a missing person's report about 12 hours later.

Elledge is originally from China. She is described as between 5-foot-1 and 5-foot-3, weighing 105 pounds, with brown eyes and shoulder-length black hair. Her purse reportedly was missing as well, but her phone, tablet, clothes and passport were still at the apartment.

Investigators from the Columbia Police Department were seen leaving Elledge’s apartment Monday, Columbia CBS-affiliate KRCG reported.

“The Columbia Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating 28-year-old Mengqi Ji Elledge,” the department said in a press release issued Froday. “She was last seen at her residence in the 2600 block of Eastwood Drive on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at approximately 11:30 p.m., when she went to bed.”
