Morgan Spector as Kevin
The conflict between Kevin (Morgan Spector) and Connor (Darren Pettie) seemingly gets uglier in next week’s Season 1, episode 3 of “The Mist.” Spike

It looks like the tension between Kevin (Morgan Spector) and Connor (Darren Pettie) are going to be more intense in next week’s Season 1, episode 3 of “The Mist.”

According to the synopsis for the episode, titled “Show and Tell,” Connor locks up Kevin, along with Mia (Danica Curcic) and Bryan (Okezie Morro), in the basement of the church. While it’s unclear why the police officer imprisons the trio, the conflict between the two parties has started since Connor left the three and Adrian (Russell Posner) at the police station in Season 1, episode 1.

Early in Season 1, episode 2, the quartet was reunited with Connor at the church, and Kevin couldn’t help but scold the police officer for leaving them behind. “You were supposed to wait for us! Where did you go?” an angry Kevin asked Connor, who ventured out into the mist using the former’s car.

But instead of answering Kevin’s question, Connor called him out for releasing his prisoners. “Who told you, you can release my prisoners?” Before Kevin could defend his decision, Mia headed towards Connor and pushed him repeatedly. “You left us to die in that cell!” Mia screamed at the police officer.

To prevent Mia from further attacking him, Connor cuffed her to the altar rail. He then defended his decision to leave Kevin and company behind. “I waited in the car like I said I would,” Connor told Kevin. “Then something attacked. I honked the horn again and again but you never came. Maybe because you were helping stage a prison break.”

Father Romanov (Dan Butler) butted in, suggesting that Connor was lying. “What do you mean you were attacked? I thought you said you didn’t know what it was [in the mist],” the priest asked.

“Well like [Kevin said], it is my job to protect people. I didn’t want to start a panic,” Connor replied.

Elsewhere in the upcoming episode, Alex (Gus Birney) interacts with Jay (Luke Cosgrove) for the first time since they were stuck at the mall with dozens of other people. According to the synopsis, Jay confronts Alex to try and convince her he didn't rape her.

Last episode, Eve (Alyssa Sutherland) and Clint (Mishka Thébaud) tried to retrieve the mall’s emergency radio in the mist-filled admin wing of the establishment so they could call for help. The pair sprinted through the hallway and made it to the security office unharmed. Shortly thereafter, Eve learned that Clint might have a secret agenda as he spoke in code on the radio and had a gun with him. She attempted to flee but Clint caught her in the hallway. The two started to attack each other, but Eve eventually overpowered him and shot him in the chest. With the radio seemingly destroyed during the fight, how will the people at the mall call for help?

In a preview clip teasing the rest of the season, Eve, Alex and others are seen releasing balloons into the sky. Each balloon has a note attached to it. The note reads: “We’re in the mall. Please help us.”

“The Mist” Season 1, episode 3 airs on Thursday, July 6 at 10 p.m. EDT on Spike.
