The ladies are back! On Thursday, June 18, ABC viewers will be reunited with the women of “Mistresses.” Karen (Yunjin Kim), April (Rochelle Aytes) and Joss (Jes Macallan) still have a story to tell in Season 3 … even though Savi (Alyssa Milano) is no longer part of their crew.

Ahead of episode 1, check out five things you need to know about the upcoming hectic –and often scandalous – lives of the Karen, April and Joss.

1. Meet Calista Raines

Say hello to Calista Raines (Jennifer Esposito)! The character is replacing the void left by Savi in Season 3 … and she can’t even be compared to the lawyer. Calista is “uber-fabulous” and just a little bit “devious.” While it’s unclear how she’ll meet the other ladies, it sounds like she’ll develop a close relationship with Joss. TV Line reports that Calista will act as a “friend, mentor and surrogate” sister to Joss. However, it will end up pulling Joss into “a world of secrets and betrayal.”

2. Another New Face

Calista won’t be the only newcomer in Season 3 of “Mistresses.” The ABC drama will also introduce April’s mother, Marjorie. The role is recurring, however the character won’t appear on screen until episode 6. And for April that sounds like a good thing. April reportedly doesn’t see eye-to-ear with her mom, who is a “well-respected Circuit Court Judge.”

3. How Savi’s Exit Will Change Joss

“Mistresses” viewers can’t forget that Joss hooked up with Savi’s ex-husband, Harry (Brett Tucker) in the Season 2 finale. With Savi out of the picture this season, things will change a lot of Joss. Creator K.J. Steinberg dished to TV Line that Joss won’t be able to go to her older sister “for forgiveness or for permission” after the whole Harry fiasco. This season will find the character “learning how to stand on her two feet.”

But despite Alyssa Milano’s exit, executive producer Rina Mimoun promised Yahoo TV that fans will definitely get to “experience” Savi’s reaction. “We do not shy away from the sister betrayal, and it’s a huge part of the two-hour premiere,” she dished.

4. Scott’s Not Going Anywhere!

Have no fear – Justin Hartley is not going anywhere! Although Joss left Scott (Hartley) at the altar to run to Harry, the smoking hot character is sticking around. Fans already got to see a sneak peek at what looks to be a fist fight between Harry and Scott. Mimoun added that his “presence” will continue to affect Joss, and represent “the road not taken.”

5. The Season 3 Premiere

If you don’t remember where “Mistresses” left off then you better read a refresher, because the Season 3 premiere is NOT featuring a time jump. EP Mimoun told Yahoo TV that viewers will pick up right where Season 2 left off … with “Joss and Harry doing the nasty.”

The premiere, titled “Gone Girl,” will find Karen breaking some bad news to Joss. The result will be Joss leaving the man she loves to race to Scott. Meanwhile, April welcomes her half-brother Scotty to town. But he’s not alone. His mom and Uncle Marc are also along for the ride. Elsewhere, Karen gets the results from her blood test … which “changes her life in a very dramatic way.” Finally, fans will meet Calista, a fashion designer who knows what she wants … and is determined to get it.

“Mistresses” will air a special two-hour premiere on ABC Thursday, June 18, starting at 9 p.m. EDT. Will you be watching? Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
