Ariel Winter is a redhead again!

The "Modern Family" star debuted her new look on Wednesday when she posted a photo of herself to Instagram. In addition to the photo, she included a video of her finger-combing through her noticeably lighter tresses.

“I’m a strawberry and a shortcake sooooo new nickname,” the 22-year-old wrote.

Winter's strawberry blonde hair color is a drastic change from the black hair she maintained for her role as Alex Dunphy on the hit ABC show. However, now that the beloved series has finished filming for Season 11 -- its final for the series -- she’s free to switch up her hairstyle.

Tabitha Dueñas, a stylist at Nine Zero One, the Los Angeles salon where Winter's hair was transformed, told People, "She wanted to strip out the black and go back to her strawberry golden blonde look we had done previously when she was on break from filming. She said she never wants to go back to black again."

Although many have become accustomed to seeing the actress with darker hair, she shared that her natural color is closer to her current strawberry blonde locks than that of her "Modern Family" character. No matter what hue she chooses to dye her hair, though, Winter's main goal is to keep it healthy.

"People never guess, but my natural hair color is dirty blonde," she said. "I’ve always had dark eyebrows so I was that person. I have dirty blonde hair and really dark eyebrows and dark eyes. I’ve dyed it so many times in the past so really the most important thing for me with my hair now is trying to keep my hair healthy."

The new look comes at the end of a huge chapter for the actress. Winter and the rest of the cast -- Ed O'Neill (Jay), Julie Bowen (Claire), Ty Burrell (Phil), Sofia Vergara (Gloria), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell), Eric Stonestreet (Cameron), Sarah Hyland (Hayley), Nolan Gould (Luke), Rico Rodriguez (Manny), Aubrey Anderson-Emmons (Lily), and Jeremy McGuire (Joe) -- were all present in photos that were shared of them from the last day on set.

Although the series has finished filming, fans don't have to say goodbye just yet. The final episode of “Modern Family” will air on ABC on April 8 and all of the seasons are available for streaming.

"Modern Family" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
