KEY POINTS

  • Camps are found hidden inside each of the maps
  • Players must complete deliveries for Kagero to use sub-camps
  • Sub-camps can be used as fast travel points and resting places

Running to opposite ends of a map can be very tedious even with Palamute riding and enhanced mobility via Wirebugs. Setting up camps helps fix this issue by giving players some additional places to fast-travel to at any time.

Like in other “Monster Hunter” games, camps can be found in hidden areas across each region. Players will have to scour each map and find these campsites. However, they will remain inactive unless players complete a side-objective from Kagero, the merchant at Kamura Village.

Upon discovering a potential sub-camp site, a speech bubble will pop up from Kagero the next time players visit Kamura’s main intersection. Speak to him to find out what he needs to set up the new camp.

Sub-camp Locations and Objectives

Maps can have up to two sub-camps inside them, which should make traversal significantly easier when hunting targets that are on the opposite side of the main camp.

Shrine Ruins

The camp is located in a clearing on top of a peak on the northern side of the map. Use Wirebugs and wall-running to reach this camp.

To unlock Shrine Ruins Sub-Camp 1, players will need to slay eight Izuchis in the area.

Frost Island

The first sub-camp can be found between Area 6 and 7. To unlock this camp, players need to slay eight Zamites, which are small, shark-like creatures that roam around the area.

Meanwhile, the second camp is located between Area 10 and 8. Players must deliver two Warm Pelt (obtained by low-rank Antekas or Kelbis) and four Monster Bone S to gain access to this camp.
