On “Mortal Kombat 11’s” release date, NetherRealm Studios unveiled one DLC character, Frost. This returning character was a former disciple of the icy ninja warrior, Sub-Zero, and uses her cyborg body with her ice magic to fight her foes.

Here’s what we know about “Mortal Kombat 11’s” Frost.

As seen on her trailer, Frost’s head is docked in her Cyborg body as she prepares to fight Sub-Zero. As seen in their interaction, Frost is openly hostile to Sub-Zero whilst acknowledging her time under the ice ninja’s tutelage.

In her move showcase, Frost seems to be able to conjure weapons out of ice similar to Sub-Zero. However, she relies on her cybernetic body to utilize the weapons with odd movements such as spinning her torso rapidly to swing swords at her opponent.

Previously, Sub-Zero and Frost were allies as they shared a Teacher-Student relationship as seen in the previous “Mortal Kombat X.” However, Frost was known to be ambitious and impatient which caused her to attack Scorpion during his visit to Sub-Zero’s Lin Kuei hideout. Her teacher had to freeze her to stop her attacks, and that was the last of her appearance in the previous game.

Now, she returns as a “cyberized” ninja which meant she was turned into a cyborg. In the previous Mortal Kombat entries, most cyberized warriors are brainwashed to do an antagonistic character’s bidding but Frost seems to do so in hopes of getting revenge against Sub-Zero. At best, Frost is not a friendly character to the protagonists of “Mortal Kombat 11.”

Aside from Frost, “Mortal Kombat 11” is still expecting 8 more DLC characters. According to leaks, the eight characters would be Joker, Nightwolf, Sindel, Ash, Spawn, Terminator, Sheeva, and Fujin. The confirmed DLC character, Shang Tsung, would come at a later date.

“Mortal Kombat 11’s” release date is March 23. Since the game comes out early for some areas, story mode videos might explain Frost’s role in the story, and footage of her actual gameplay are already out. For now, we’ll have to wait for the other DLC characters to arrive to fully enjoy this game.
