Nashville 509 spoilers
Rayna (Connie Britton) and Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) will both struggle with their health in “Nashville” Season 5, episode 9. CMT

Work never stops for Rayna in “Nashville” Season 5. After her stalker held a knife to her throat, she was involved in a terrible car accident that will send her to the hospital. While it seemed like her life was hanging in the balance, the synopsis for episode 9 reveals that she’ll survive and even try to head right back into the recording studio.

“After her life-changing experience, Rayna scrambles to write one more song for the concept album with Deacon,” the summary for the CMT drama reveals. Rayna (Connie Britton) has been super focused on this album, but isn’t it time to rest? She did just get out of the hospital.

The promo video, however, plays up last week’s cliffhanger. Deacon (Charles Esten) and Maddie (Lennon Stella) both seem distraught while Rayna remains unconscious. “I love you, Rayna. Don’t leave me,” Deacon tells her. It certainly makes fans wonder if she will die.

The sneak-peek video for episode 9, however, reveals that Rayna will wake up with a craving for cheeseburgers. She also seems to appreciate that Deacon is by her side after her car accident. Audiences will remember that the circumstances were very different last time a car crash sent Rayna to the ER. Watch the clip below:

Season 5, episode 9 is ominously titled “If Tomorrow Never Comes.” Let’s hope Rayna doesn’t push herself too hard after getting out of the hospital. Despite rumors that the character could be killed off, we certainly want the country superstar to see many more tomorrows.

It seems she isn’t the only one having medical issues. “Meanwhile, Juliette’s leg starts to hurt inexplicably,” the synopsis reveals. On the bright side, at least she still has feeling in her leg. Juliette (Hayden Panettiere), however, has never been a glass half full kind of gal. The setback will likely leave her frustrated.

Elsewhere, Scarlett’s (Clare Bowen) new romance with her director (Christian Coulson) might fizzle out as quickly as it started — at least it will if Gunnar (Sam Palladio) gets his way. “Gunnar fights for Scarlett,” is the only hint the synopsis gives. Will the Exes be able to rekindle their relationship?

“Nashville” Season 5, episode 9 airs Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on CMT.
