If there’s anything better than the long stretch of summer, it’s free food. More specifically, what’s even better is free donuts. Thankfully, in honor of National Donut Day, that’s a big reality.

On Friday, June 7, restaurants nationwide will offer some deals in honor of the holiday, and the celebration isn’t just in honor of deep-fried dough covered in frosting. In fact, the holiday was actually created to honor the Salvation Army Donut Lassies, who made fresh donuts for American soldiers serving during World War I.

Thankfully, everyone can partake in the celebrations. Before Friday officially rolls around, check out which places you can visit in order to get a free donut.
