KEY POINTS

  • The Golden State Warriors are looking to bounce back after a difficult season
  • Players such as Kelly Oubre are rising stars the Warriors can consider in the future
  • Oubre is averaging 18.7 points a game for the Phoenix Suns

The Golden State Warriors are seeking to bounce back after falling to the bottom of the league. The team is still in a position to recover as there are a lot of possible talents that the team can benefit from including Phoenix Suns’ rising star Kelly Oubre.

Infusing the Warriors' roster with young yet experienced talent like Oubre will assist the team in the long run. The 2019-2020 season was an unusual look for Golden State as their veteran players were replaced with rookies and new players. It has been a unique year for the Warriors given the series of injuries and roster changes the franchise went through.

But with all of the options that the Warriors have, they can further deepen their line up by taking advantage of their assets. The Warriors have multiple choices to move around with and leverage for a strong trade. Rekindling their dominant team is still within grasp given the resources that they still have. The 2021 pick they received from Minnesota remains to be valuable and can be used to lure strong players for their team.

Per Blue Man Hoop, the versatile forward Oubre is a strong fit for the team given his improved shooting and tremendous athleticism. The 24-year-old has seen valuable minutes with the Suns and is averaging 18.7 points an outing to go along with 6.4 rebounds a night.

While the Suns haven’t reached much success in the past few years, surrounding Oubre with seasoned winners like the Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will work wonders for his development. Standing at six-foot-seven, the physical small forward can take it strong inside the paint but also pull up deep from the outside. The versatile game he has will be compatible with the Warriors’ high-octane offense strategy.

Being a young explosive player, Oubre can work well with the likes of Draymond Green who can help develop his teammates in an all-around matter. Couple his growth with the leadership of Curry and Thompson, Oubre may reach another level of his game if he ends up in the Bay Area.

While plans are not certain yet for the Warriors’ front office, it would be interesting to see how Golden State approaches the upcoming years. It will be important to have young promising stars that could further mature under the winning culture of the Warriors.
