KEY POINTS

  • The Golden State Warriors are currently last in the NBA
  • Anthony Edwards is one of the top prospects in the upcoming draft
  • Edwards is a gifted scorer who can be a possible option for the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have fallen from their peak of being one of the most dominant forces in the league. They are currently rebuilding their roster, as they are last in the NBA with a 12-44 record. Despite this, the Warriors are still not counted out in succeeding seasons as two-time MVP Stephen Curry is preparing for his return. Fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson is also anticipating a comeback as he’s taking the time off to recover from his ACL injury to come back even stronger next year.

After five straight Finals appearances, the Warriors have changed a lot in their lineup. They acquired D’Angelo Russell in the offseason and traded him for former number 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins. With how the Warriors are performing now, they have projected to couple their lineup with a top pick in the lottery draft for next season.

While there isn’t a player of Zion Williamson’s hype in the upcoming class, talent and star-caliber players are still abundant. One of these players is a highly rated shooting guard out of the University of Georgia, Anthony Edwards. Edwards is a prolific scorer who has the athletic ability to take it inside the paint or pull up from beyond the arc.

He recently made noise online when one of his highlights made rounds across the Internet. In Georgia’s matchup against Vanderbilt, Edwards took it strong inside and elevated for an explosive dunk over the Commodores’ defense. This shows the versatility in his game and how he isn’t afraid of contact inside.

Edwards is offensively gifted and can fit in well as a possible guard for the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors rely on their shooting that can be attributed to the elite ball and player movement. Edwards’ ability to make it fly beyond the arc can be a big help to the Splash Brothers’ offensive load.

While he’s scouted to have the tendency to force the issue sometimes, the championship experience his potential teammates have can mentor him to develop further.
