A freestyle rapper said that Houston Rockets superstar James Harden’s jersey was retired by a strip club in “H-Town.”

Among the present-day NBA superstars, Harden is arguably the best scorer there is. But outside the basketball court, Harden is apparently a big fan of strip clubs.

While this shouldn’t have been much of a big deal as various athletes are often seen in different clubs all the time, this Houston strip club reportedly made one surprising thing – they retired Harden’s jersey.

In an episode of the “Joe Budden podcast,” the interesting story was shared by Budden’s co-host “Mal,” a British fresstyle battle rapper from the United Kingdom. According to Mal, a strip club in Houston decided to retire Harden’s jersey to honor him in the best way possible. And evidently, he was one of the regular customers of the club who loves to spend a huge amount of money while having some fun in there.

“James (Harden) has his jersey like hanging from the top. They were doing that because they said James has been going in there spending like [a lot of money], you know what I mean? So they gave him his own jersey hanging from the rafters of the strip club,” Mal said.

In the NBA, a player’s jersey is being hanged by the rafters to honor their legacy and what they have done to the said franchise. However, this Houston strip club may have been infused with impeccable marketing strategy to emulate the said NBA tradition. Or, they really just appreciate how Harden blow up his cash whenever he’s in the building.

If Mal’s story about Harden happens to be true, this may be the first time an NBA superstar’s jersey was retired by an establishment, specifically a strip club.

Harden isn’t the only NBA star who likes to splurge some of millions on strip clubs. Last January, a viral video surfaced on Twitter which apparently shows Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard enjoying himself at a local strip club as well.

Leonard seems to be having a good time as he was seen “making it rain” or throwing dollars at one of the female dancers. Leonard’s visit to the club reportedly took place after a Clippers win against the Heat.

It didn’t take long for fans and critics to share their thoughts about Leonard’s act. Some even believed that the Clippers star picked a bad time to be spotted at a strip club as frustrations have also been growing in Clippers' team at the time.
