KEY POINTS

  • Isaiah Thomas averaged over 23 points in his three years with the Boston Celtics
  • He was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers before the trade deadline, making him a free agent
  • He said that he is willing to take any role, on and off the court

Isaiah Thomas is starting to get his groove back in Washington as their starting point guard but that came to an end when he was shipped by the Wizards before the trade deadline. Now, he is longing to be back in the league and said he’s willing to do anything.

The 5-foot-9 guard shared his thoughts about the comparison between Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young, saying that the way the game was played during Curry’s second year in the league is different compared to the sophomore year of the last year’s runner-up for the Rookie of the Year race.

Noticed by a fan on how the analysis was made, the 31-year old guard again expressed his desire of wearing an NBA thread once more after being left out after the trade. He was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team trade with the Wizards and the New York Knicks.

What Thomas did to the Celtics during his tenure with Boston is something that the fans wanted to see but that may not happen as Celtics President Danny Ainge said that he isn’t that interested in adding more pieces to the team and said that he is not sure if their former star player will fit in their current line-up.

The Celtics’ guard rotation is currently occupied by Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Brad Wanamaker and the team just clinched a playoff spot after their victory against the Indiana Pacers, 114-111. Jaylen Brown paced Boston with 30 points and their starting lineup all finished in double-digits, scoring at least 11 points.

Thomas averaged 23.4 points per game during his three-year tenure with the green and white, including his career-high average of 28.9 points per outing in his third year with the Celtics before he was shipped along with three other players to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Kyrie Irving. Since then, he’s had trips with the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and Washington.
