KEY POINTS

  • LeBron James is in the 17th year of his illustrious NBA career
  • James has multiple business ventures, including a pizza chain and a production company
  • The NBA player has produced a rap album before

LeBron James is quite possibly the best player in the NBA today.

The 17-year veteran is coming off his fourth NBA championship, his first with the Los Angeles Lakers.

This season, LeBron and the Lakers are looking to hold onto their title and win back-to-back for the first time since the Kobe Bryant-led Lakers won titles in 2009 and 2010.

The Lakers are currently second in the Western Conference with a 22-7 record.

While LeBron may continue to dominate the league for a few more years to come, it looks like he’s trying his hand at other avenues.

James already has numerous business ventures such as his own pizza chain, a production company, and a media brand.

Now, it looks like “King James” is looking to get into music.

The 36-year old star took to social media to share his thoughts on the music business and how he plans to be involved in it.

“My love for music is insane! I think I’m going to do an album,” James tweeted. “Oh no, I won’t be rapping or anything like that. I’m not crazy, I know what I’m great at, but I tell you one thing I do have. So many friends that can.”

This isn’t the first time that James has dabbled in music production. In 2019, he produced 2 Chainz’s album "Rap Or Go To The League." The album was released in March 2019 and received fairly positive reviews.

If James does end up producing a rap album, expect it to feature a number of big-name rappers who have a close relationship with the NBA star.

Among those high-profile musicians who have close ties with James include 2 Chainz, Travis Scott, Drake, Quavo, and many others.

For now, however, it looks like James is fully focused on adding to his already impressive basketball legacy.
