At 38, most NBA fans know for a fact that Pau Gasol will, at some point, call it a career. However, like any other pro basketball cager, the Spaniard will want to leave the league the right way.

After being bought out by the San Antonio Spurs and with the NBA headed towards the penultimate stage of the season, there is no denying that Gasol can still provide some help even if he came off the bench. Though he has not seen that much action in the 2018-19 NBA wars, his resume is enough to prove that he could be a vital cog for any team.

And apparently, that team which took notice is the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks, which will reportedly be taking in the two-time NBA champion, ESPN reported. Hence, his addition gives the team what it lacks: championship experience.

Gasol is expected to play behind Brook Lopez in the middle. He is the latest notable player to be added to the roster following the acquisition of George Hill and Nikola Mirotic. The Bucks may not be among the teams mentioned in high profile name trades this season, but they may have gotten the needed players to help bolster their bid in the NBA postseason wars.

Like the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls, the San Antonio Spurs are in semi-rebuilding mode with head coach Gregg Popovich opting to give his younger players more playing time. Gasol has played in only 27 games this season and has been averaging only 4.2 points per game, NBC Sports reported.

It will be interesting to see if he will get better playing time under the watch of Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer. It may depend on how well the six-time NBA All-Star will blend in with the Bucks' system and contribute to their run. Whether it be on or off the court, he is a tested veteran who can offer a thing or two when it comes to handling the pressure in the NBA playoffs.

Regardless of how far the Bucks go this NBA season, it could potentially be Gasol's last ride. Should that be the case, expect the third overall pick of the 2001 NBA Draft to give it one last push and exiting on his own terms.
