For the fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder, the grim reality is starting to sink. The team is ranked 12th on the stacked Western Conference Division, with a dismal 1-3 record to begin their campaign.

Earlier last week, Chris Paul and the rest of OKC lambasted the Golden State Warriors to a 120 to 92 win but has struggled since. While there are no indications that Paul will be leaving the Thunder fold anytime this season, CP3 could eventually be shipped to Dallas in an attempt to rebuild from scratch.

In a story by Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley, OKC could attempt to trade the aging All-Star to gain essential pieces for their rebuild. However, shipping Paul to Dallas might also work at his end. It would enable him to play for a playoff-contending team and form a basketball Triumvirate along with Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic.

Zach Buckley said that the "Mavericks might be closer to contending than everyone thinks." He added that "the team could use another shot-creator, and Paul sits several stories above... Delon Wright, Seth Curry and J.J. Barea."

More importantly, CP3 is more a set player and would greatly benefit under Rick Carlisle's helm. Dallas' head coach is "one of the best X's and O's tacticians in the business."

If Dallas plans to go deep in the playoffs, landing Paul would be their target. Doncic is more lethal at the shooting guard spot and having a guy that could create plays like CP3 would open up the offense.

Kristaps Porzingis also plays the pick and roll and pick and pop game well and could fit nicely with Chris' game. Paul had mastered this type of offense when he played with Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan in Los Angeles.

The only problem is CP3's massive contract; he is set to make over $100 million in the next three years. So far, the 34-year-old point guard is averaging 13.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and a steal in four regular games this season.

Those numbers would quickly increase if he were paired with an offensive duo like Porzingis and Doncic at the helm. Expect Dallas to make moves late into the season as they'll try to compete in the very talented Western Conference Division.
