Lonzo Ball formally plays for a new team this 2019-20 NBA season with the New Orleans Pelicans. This early, he considers the duo of Brandon Ingram and JrueHoliday as one of the unstoppable combos. When asked to broaden it, the second overall pick of the 2017 Draft unsurprisingly chose LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The choice hardly comes as a surprise. The James-Davis duo is something pundits feel is extra special. There is plenty of excitement and hype when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 22. It will be a meeting of two fancied teams for the 2019-20 season.

Ball would have been around with James and Davis had the Pelicans agreed to a package without him. Most know that the Lakers were determined to land the All-Star center - even with Ball in the deal. Now, all the 21-year-old guard can do is try and improve his game under the watch of head coach Alvin Gentry.

In an interview with the Players' Tribune, the selection was part of many "unstoppable" questions. That included individual players and tandems. As far as standout cagers, Ball singled out Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan. Other duos on his list include the Bryant-Shaquille O'Neal pair and Jordan-Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls.

There is plenty to work on as far as Ball is concerned. Although he has proven to be a good playmaker, his outside shot needs work. Expected to be utilized more in New Orleans, Ball is expected to evolve. Looking ahead, he does not discount the possibility of returning to Hollywood in the future. He will hit the restricted free agent market in 2021.

USA Today notes that the Lakers will have over $36 million in cap space by that time. The Lakers could try and lure back Ball in the fray seeing how they need someone who plays the point.

“Who knows if I eventually go back or not? You never know what the future holds. But right now, I think I’m in the best situation for myself,” said Ball.

For now, it would be too early to tell. It all depends on the situation of Ball and the Lakers. All Ball can do now is work on his game and improve. By 2021, who knows? He could be a missing piece in the Lakers' drive for a new dynasty.
