  • Warriors and Nets are said to be interested in Jeremy Lin
  • Lin is serious about making an NBA return
  • Lin is likely to come off the bench again to spell starters

After spending some time in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), Jeremy Lin will be trying his luck in the NBA anew.

Many pundits see it as an ambitious bid with him taking a big risk in his pro-basketball career.

Though he has proven to be a valuable player off the bench or someone who can spark a team, the fact is that he is already 32-years-old and will be up against young and talented players who play the guard position.

Officially, there have been no teams who have expressed interest in Lin. But according to unnamed sources from China (translated by Hoops Hype), the Golden State Warriors and the Brooklyn Nets are the potential landing spots.

The Warriors, the same team where Lin started his NBA career during the 2010-11 season, are said to be interested in the one-time NBA champion guard.

The report alleges that the Warriors are enticed with what Lin can bring to the team, particularly off the bench.

In his first NBA season with the Warriors, Lin hardly had good numbers to show. He averaged 2.6 points and 1.4 assists in 29 games for the Dubs that lone season.

If not the Dubs, the Nets could be another team that could give Lin a chance. He played for the Nets from 2016 to 2018 though his tenure was hard to remember as injuries forced him to the sidelines.

Lin played only a total of 36 games in the two seasons he was with the Nets. He averaged 9.6 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in 19.4 minutes of action for the Nets in those two seasons per Basketball-Reference.

The best season that Lin had was with the Houston Rockets during the 2012-13 NBA wars. He normed 13.4 points, 6.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds, and played the full regular season. But after his stint with the Rockets, his game went on the decline.

Lin was part of the Toronto Raptors squad that won the 2018-19 NBA title. However, he barely got playing time to help during the campaign and ended up without a club after that season.
