KEY POINTS

  • The Golden State Warriors are looking to recover after a difficult season
  • One talent they can look into is Philadelphia 76ers’ Furkan Korkmaz
  • Korkmaz is shooting close to 40% from the three-point line this season

With uncertainty approaching the Golden State Warriors in the upcoming season, the team is still determined to make the best adjustments for the franchise. One prospect the squad can take advantage of is Philadelphia 76ers shooter Furkan Korkmaz.

Despite placing last in the NBA, the Warriors are still in a position to improve in the seasons to come. This is due to the various moves the franchise has made while Steph Curry and Klay Thompson were recovering from their injuries. One of their major deals involves trading their offseason pickup of All-Star D’Angelo Russell for former number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins. In addition to this, Eric Paschall has proven to be a great selection in last year’s draft.

To add to these, the Warriors are also in a strong position for the number one overall pick for the next season. Several top high-ranking players such as LaMelo Ball and James Wiseman are among the key names the team has been linked to. With every major move, there are also key pieces the Warriors must focus on in the coming year.

Developing a strong bench with players that fit the Warriors’ style will be pivotal in their bounce-back year. Having someone like Korkmaz’s caliber will be beneficial for the Bay Area squad, per Fansided’s Blue Man Hoop.

Throughout the latest season, Korkmaz has developed into a fan-favorite with how he’s shown his ability to shoot from beyond the arc. In one of his biggest moments of the season, Korkmaz lit up for 34 big points in a win against the Memphis Grizzlies. The six-foot-seven shooter nailed seven out of nine threes and has developed into a consistent player for the 76ers.

The Warriors are in need of a backup point guard with the load the Splash Brothers will have to carry on their shoulders. Having someone like Korkmaz’s capability to shoot can complement Curry and Thompson’s offensive firepower. With a shooting percentage of 39.4% from beyond the arc, Korkmaz can prove to be a good source of offense coming from the bench. While his stats don’t scream All-Star numbers, his confidence from the perimeter will match well with the Warriors’ fast-paced style.

While plans are not final yet for the Bay Area team, it would be interesting to see how Golden State will strategize for the upcoming seasons. It will be important to see how role players such as Korkmaz can help contribute to the rebuilding of the Warriors.
