Demi Lovato showcased a completely new look on Instagram on Thursday, showing fans that she is ready to embrace a fresh start. The singer featured her much shorter locks in a series of photos on the social media site that were created by Nine Zero One salon stylist, Amber Maynard Bolt.

According to a statement by Bolt, “Demi has been feeling great and wanted something to represent that. She’s been wearing extensions and growing her hair out for a while, so this was a nice change up, while keeping her classic and beautiful!”

The sleek brunette bob was shown in side-by-side photos with her old look, getting rid of the extensions that she was previously wearing. Lovato captioned the photo, “This was without extensions y’all. It got so long!”

To get the look, Maynard Bolt cut a blunt lob cut that skimmed the shoulders of the “Confident” singer. She also changed Lovato’s ombre hair color to a deep shade of brown. The cut was accented with a deep side part, and a blowout was used to get volume and glossiness while turning under the ends.

Lovato has had her share of hairstyles over the years going as a blond, redhead, and a rainbow of other shades. The new look is part is just one of the steps that Lovato has taken after her recent stint in rehab to deal with her mental health.
