Demi Lovato celebrated New Year’s Eve by drinking Martinelli’s sparkling apple cider instead of alcohol. The singer has been focusing on her recovery ever since the incident of drug overdose a few months back. In the New Year message to her fans, she said that she is sober and grateful.

According to ET Online, the Instagram post suggested that she chose to spend New Year’s Eve at home rather than go out and party. In the post, the singer wrote that she is grateful for all the lessons she has learned in 2018, and she added that she will not take life for granted.

Lovato nearly died because of a drug overdose back in July. She has been to rehab and has been trying to heal. The singer previously said on social media that she will tell everyone what exactly happened, but at the moment, she needs time to heal.

Apart from spending time with family and relaxing, Lovato is reportedly casually dating Henry Levy. The two met in a rehab a few years ago. Levy is said to be supporting the singer to help her get back on her feet. Lovato also profusely thanked her fans for their support in a previous social media post.

In another Instagram post, Lovato thanked the fans for the 1 billion streams on Spotify. She has 106 million fans from 65 countries on the music streaming platform.

According to E! News, Lovato has recently started to become active on social media. So far, she has been trying to debunk rumors about her. She told her fans on Twitter not to believe everything they read because tabloids tend to make things up. She promised that when the time is right, the fans will hear from her exactly what her life is like. For her part, Lovato continues to be sober and is just grateful to be alive.

Lovat’s mother, Dianna de la Garza, reportedly said in a recent interview that she is proud of her daughter. She pointed out that addiction is a diseases and that it needs a lot of work to be free. She added that this process is not easy, and there are no shortcuts.

Family and friends appear to be supporting Lovato during this recovery phase. According to People, the singer spent a relatively quiet and cozy Christmas with her family and pets. She also shared pictures of some tender moments with the fans online and greeted them during the holidays.
