A new ride-hailing service is coming to New York City, offering no surge charges or hidden fees. The service, which was developed by Myle Technologies, was designed to provide “a better alternative” to compete with Uber and Lyft.

“As a veteran of the New York Taxi industry and an entrepreneur, I knew there had to be a better solution, so I set out to design and build a ride-hailing service that New Yorkers actually want to use,” Aleksey Medvedovskiy, founder and CEO at Myle Technologies said in a statement.

“Today, we have a service that is transparently-priced, easy to use, and fully-featured. Best of all, we’re going to be 10% cheaper than Uber or Lyft. If you don’t believe it, try Myle for yourself,” he added.

The Myle ride-hailing service allows for on-demand or pre-scheduled rides anywhere in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, or Staten Island. Riders can select a regular ride that consists of four seats, an SUV with six seats, shared, premium, premium SUV, and wheelchair accessible vehicle options.

According to the company, it doesn’t take advantage of riders with hidden fees or surge pricing. Customers only pay the price they see in the app, which is calculated by distance to be traveled and estimated time. The app doesn’t charge more during busy times, which has been a concern for some riders with Uber and Lyft.

The Myle ride-hailing service also has no fees for cancelation unless the driver is at the pick-up location. There are also no lost item fees for riders that leave something behind when they ride.

Customers can download the Myle Ride app in the Apple App Store or on Google Play.

The company does have plans to expand the service to counties on Long Island within a year. No plans are in place currently to expand the service beyond New York City, the company said.
