KEY POINTS

  • Players are able to transfer their characters between eligible servers
  • Two key Life Staff skills are currently not working as intended
  • Players can now keep more faction tokens in their inventories

The latest patch for “New World” is now live, featuring a slew of important fixes and quality of life improvements that will hopefully make the game feel better across the board.

The 1.0.4 update brought back the Server Transfer feature, which was previously disabled due to unforeseen technical issues on the developers’ part. As of press time, “New World” players should be able to transfer to other servers as long as they fall within the allowed server transfer criteria.

Outpost Rush was also re-enabled shortly after the rollout of server transfers across all regions. All players who have hit Level 60 should now be able to play this game mode once again for their late-game gold farming routines.

Among the many fixes and changes included with this patch, there are a handful that stand out. First, players should be able to notice a slight improvement in the performance of their machines during Wars following some optimization tweaks. This has been a highly requested fix since large-scale PvP battles tended to tank the framerates of some players regardless of their PC specs.

Another notable change involves the Life Staff and its two skills, Blissful Touch and Mending Touch. The patch notes stated that these two abilities were “slightly improved” but the exact changes weren’t specified. To make things worse, players at the official “New World” forum said that the patch ended up breaking the skills instead of changing them.

The patch has also fixed a bug that caused companies to lose income from owning multiple territories at once. Any gold that companies have lost during the previous patch cycle has been reimbursed, so be sure to check the company coffers to see if any gold was returned.

Lastly, the Faction Token cap for all reputation levels have been increased. This allows players to keep earning tokens while they’re working their way to the next reputation cap, allowing for a bit more leeway when it comes to saving and spending tokens. The token cap has been increased by 50% per reputation level.

The rest of the patch contains numerous bug fixes, including solutions for problems involving server crashes, wrong starmetal and orichalcum ore distribution, arcane protection in the Starstone Barrows and more.
