The Los Angeles Rams pulled off a stunning move ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, acquiring Von Miller from the Denver Broncos. Already one of the NFC’s top teams, the Rams have an even better chance to win the Super Bowl following Monday’s news.

Los Angeles sent Denver a second-round pick and a third-rounder in the 2022 NFL Draft, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. In order for the Rams to fit the remaining $9.7 million of Miller’s base salary under the salary cap, Denver is also giving L.A. $9 million.

A 7-1 record ties the Rams with the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals for the best mark in football. In the immediate aftermath of the trade, Los Angeles’ championship odds went from +700 to +650 at multiple sportsbooks.

Only the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have better Super Bowl odds than Los Angeles.

The Rams are favored by more than a touchdown over the Tennessee Titans for their Week 9 matchup on “Sunday Night Football.” Los Angeles opened as a 4.5-point favorite.

Since losing to the Cardinals in Week 4, the Rams have gone on a four-game winning streak. Los Angeles has outscored its opponents by 61 points during that stretch.

Miller has the most sacks in the NFL over the last decade. The eight-time Pro Bowl selection has 4.5 sacks in seven games during the 2021 season. Miller is in the final year of his contract.

Denver is 4-4 through eight games.
