KEY POINTS

  • Tau Tagovailoa is ready to accept whatever happens this coming NFL offseason
  • The Dolphins are expected to go through changes after missing the postseason for the fifth year in a row
  • Brian Flores' future is also not spared as the team hardly improved after three seasons under his watch

Tau Tagovailoa is coming off another rocky NFL season, and his future remains unclear.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of NFL trade talk, but it appears this is something that is not worrying him that much.

Miami is set to miss the postseason for the fifth year in a row, the third one with Brian Flores at the helm.

Potential changes loom in the offseason and Tagovailoa could be one on the move.

Regardless of that possibility, the No. 5 pick of the 2020 NFL Draft opts not to worry about it.

Instead, he prefers to go with the flow and just accept whatever fate awaits in a report from the Miami Herald.

"No, I'm not worried about that," Tagovailoa stated. "If it comes up, it comes up. If it doesn't, it doesn't."

The name of Tagovailoa has been mentioned often in a potential trade involving Deshaun Watson this NFL season.

But when the NFL trade deadline came, no deal transpired. However, there is a chance that could all change in the offseason.

Considering he has had an inconsistent showing for the Dolphins, the possibility of him moving to another NFL team is a possibility.

Tagovailoa had moments where he was sharp for the Dolphins, but there were also instances where he makes mental mistakes, raising questions on how he can stretch the field properly.

"Obviously, it didn't go the way I wanted it to go," the standout from Alabama said about his second year. "It didn't go the way that our team wanted it to go. It's tough when you have an opportunity, and you don't capitalize on that opportunity."

Adding more woes to this consistency is the fact that Tagovailoa was not spared from injuries.

He had his share of struggles and this too contributed to his erratic plays for Miami, NFL.com reported.

His future may be uncertain, but the same holds for the entire Miami Dolphins team.

Flores could also be in hot water for failing to lead the team.

But at the end of the day, heads will roll. The only question now is who and if Tagovailoa or Flores will be part of potential team changes.
