Vance Joseph's job is far from secure, and their recent defeat at the hands of the Oakland Raiders is bound to make his future all the more murky. Regardless, Denver Broncos quarterback Case Keenum feels that the embattled coach is worth winning for and that he will play hard for him.

As mentioned in a previous post, Joseph is forecasted to be dismissed after this season. And while he has often avoided talking about it, his main focus is to help the Broncos prepare for each game and hopefully pull off a win.

Unfortunately that has not happened, further pushing him into a hole. But if one was to ask the Broncos for their opinion, it seems that all are behind Joseph – regardless of what the future holds.

“Nobody likes not winning; we all hate it. We want all want to play hard, we all want to win for Coach Joseph, we all love him, he’s an incredible human and a great football coach. I want to play hard for him, for every guy in that locker room,” Broncos quarterback Keenum said in a report by ESPN.

The words of Keenum are inspiring, but he too is fighting for his future. After getting signed in the offseason, the 30-year-old quarterback has not exactly had a stellar year. He has been performing below-average, meaning there is a chance that he too could be given the boot, CBS Sports reported.

In fact, Denver can save $11 million should they choose to cut Keenum at some point in the offseason. If not, they could also end up saving $18 million if they trade him, assuming Denver is able to find a willing trade partner.

Right now, the Broncos have lost three consecutive games to sub-.500 teams as their playoff hopes continue to die down. Team owner John Elway had pinned his hopes on Keenum, a plan that has obviously backfired, 247 Sports said. The planned upgrade at the quarterback position has backfired and now most believe that another change is about to happen during the NFL break.

As for Joseph, it could be a case of hooking up with the wrong team. As mentioned in another post, he is not expected to remain unemployed for long. There are several teams reportedly considering him, led by the Cincinnati Bengals. He could end up being the team’s defensive coordinator or head coach, depending on what lies ahead for Marvin Lewis.
