With Week 7 of the NFL season coming to a close, the league’s best quarterbacks have their teams in first place. Reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes and 2020 MVP favorite Russell Wilson are near the top of the standings.

Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs (6-1) had Sunday’s biggest victory, defeating the Denver Broncos (2-4) by 27 points. Kansas City leads the AFC West and has the second-best record in football, trailing only the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-0).

Pittsburgh is the lone undefeated team left in the league. The Steelers defeated the Tennessee Titans (5-1) in a nailbiter, moving one game ahead of the Baltimore Ravens (5-1) for first place in the AFC North.

The Chiefs, Steelers, Titans, and Buffalo Bills (5-2) are the AFC’s division leaders. If the postseason started after Week 7, the Ravens, Cleveland Browns (5-2), and Indianapolis Colts (4-2) would be wild-card teams.

The Seattle Seahawks (5-1) suffered their first loss of the season in Week 7, blowing a 10-point, fourth-quarter lead to the Arizona Cardinals (5-2). Despite losing a divisional matchup behind Wilson’s three interceptions, Seattle has a half-game lead over Arizona atop the NFC West.

The Seahawks are the NFC’s No. 2 seed. The Chicago Bears (5-1) are first in the conference heading into their Monday night game with the Los Angeles Rams (4-2). Los Angeles is a heavy favorite to win the final game on the Week 7 schedule.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) defeated the Las Vegas Raiders (3-3) by 25 points Sunday. Tampa Bay maintained its lead atop the NFC South and Las Vegas fell out of the current playoff picture.

The Philadelphia Eagles (2-4-1) are the league’s worst first-place team. Philadelphia moved to the top of the NFC East and ahead of the Dallas Cowboys (2-5), who were embarrassed by the Washington Football Team (2-5) in a 25-3 loss.

Dallas is down to its third quarterback after Andy Dalton left Sunday’s game with an injury. In two contests since starting quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury, the Cowboys have been outscored 63-13.

The Rams, Cardinals, and Green Bay Packers (5-1) are the three NFC wild-card teams with one game left in Week 7.
