Nick Cannon is defending himself after receiving criticism for having four kids with three different women in less than a year.

On Wednesday's installment of Cannon's Power 106 Los Angeles radio show, City Girls rapper JT (née Jatavia Shakara Johnson) jokingly advised him to "wrap it up." When Cannon asked JT to clarify her statement, the latter replied, "Wrap it up and protect yourself," suggesting that he use a condom to prevent unplanned pregnancies.

Cannon initially poked fun at himself over the number of baby mamas he has. "I'm like a seahorse out here. That's just the way I'm procreating," he was quoted by People as saying.

However, he set the record straight. "I'm having these kids on purpose. I don't have no accident!" he said.

The "Masked Singer" host welcomed his seventh child, a son named Zen, with model Alyssa Scott on June 23. Cannon also welcomed twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with Abby De La Rosa on June 14 and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell in December 2020, E! News noted.

Cannon and Bell share 4-year-old son Golden "Sagon" in addition to Powerful Queen. He is also a father to 10-year-old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, with ex-wife Mariah Carey.

"Trust me, there's a lot of people I could've gotten pregnant that I didn't. The ones that got pregnant are the ones that were supposed to get pregnant," Cannon said on his show, adding, "You only live once."

Last week, Cannon's rumored girlfriend, Scott, shared a series of snaps of their newborn on Instagram. In two pictures, she is all glammed up in a black backless gown and jewelry and can be seen smiling while carrying her son in her arms. Another photo showed her cradling her baby bump.

But although it seems Cannon enjoys being a dad, he previously said he is done with marriage. He was married to Carey from 2008 to 2016.

"I don't believe in marriage anymore," he told Entertainment Tonight in February 2020. "I have done that. I don't like doing things that I am not good at."
