Since Nikki Bella and John Cena became engaged in April 2017, the couple has gushed about their undying love for one another and planning their wedding. However, a “Total Bellas” trailer reveals the couple struggled with deciding whether they wanted to call something off.

Nikki and John have been very open about sharing various details in regards to their special day, but the couple has kept quiet about their wedding date more than 9 months after becoming engaged.

In the promo video for “Total Bellas” Season 3, the Birdie Bee co-owner is seen with tears streaming down her face as she holds her fiancé’s hand.

“So we really want to call this off?” she asks Cena who appears to be emotional and remains silent following her question.

The clip for the upcoming season hints at several bumps in the road for the newly engaged couple. In the video, it is revealed that Nikki, along with her twin sister Brie Bella, will be returning to the WWE ring.

Brie is later seen having a conversation with her husband, Daniel Bryan, and asks, “I wonder if she’s pregnant?”

While it is unclear who she is talking about, Nikki is later heard saying marriage is all about sacrifice, and Brie chimes in saying it is time John makes some of his own.

In the past, the couple struggled to agree on the idea of having children. Initially, Nikki wanted them and John was against it, but in August, Nikki revealed she and her fiancé have reached an understanding that children aren’t in the cards for them.

“I used to not understand. You used to see this on ‘Total Divas’ and ‘Total Bellas,’ I didn’t understand where John was coming from when he would say he wouldn’t want to be a father,” she told E! News at the time.

“It wasn’t that he didn’t like kids…It was just he works a lot and he would want to home for those kids. I feel the same way, ” she continued.

Nikki admitted that she wouldn’t be able to live the life she wanted if she had a baby. “I like being spontaneous and I love my career and I like working on a lot of businesses and I couldn’t imagine giving all that up to be at home with a child.”

While it is unclear if a pregnancy scare will bring Nikki and John to making a major decision, it seems the couple will be emotionally affected by whatever choice they agree on.

“Total Bellas” Season 3 will premiere in spring 2018 on E!
