One year can make all the difference. In February 2018, reports surfaced that Princess Eugenie wasn’t accepting Meghan Markle into the family, but just a year later the two are allegedly on their way to becoming besties.

In 2018, OK! Magazine reported that Princess Eugenie was “refusing” to give her “seal of approval” to Meghan. The outlet claimed that Eugenie perceived Meghan as a “commoner,” and there was supposedly some jealousy about Meghan and Harry’s wedding being a bigger event than her own nuptials with Jack Brooksbank.

A year later, it looks like Eugenie has accepted Meghan. The two are rumored to have grown close since Meghan married Harry and became the Duchess of Sussex.

When the princess got married in October, Meghan didn’t attend the reception afterward because she had to get ready to leave for Australia. This reportedly left Eugenie “upset” because she really wanted the former actress to celebrate with her. Prince Harry stopped by for a drink, but it was the American member of the royal family that Eugenie really wanted to see.

Some royal followers thought Eugenie snubbed Meghan and Harry in an Instagram post. When she uploaded an Instagram post that supposedly showed “some of [her] favorite moments” from 2018, she didn’t include a photo of Meghan and Harry’s wedding. Yet the latest reports indicate that she is actually growing close to the newest member of her family.

The two women are reportedly bonding over babies. Though Eugenie hasn’t announced a pregnancy yet, insiders claim Meghan is giving Eugenie advice.

“Meghan has given her tips on everything from walking in heels while pregnant to dealing with morning sickness. They’ve really bonded,” an anonymous source told OK! Magazine in their Feb. 18 print edition.

Royal watchers will have to wait and see if Eugenie gets to put those tips to good use in the near future. Meghan, meanwhile, is due to give birth in spring.
