Inmates, to your bunks! It’s just about time to start your “Orange Is The New Black” Season 5 binge.

Before the show returns to Netflix, however, there are a few things you should know. The latest season of the show takes place over the span of three days during which the prison is in complete chaos. Following the death of inmate Poussey Washington (Samira Wiley) in Season 4, the prisoners have taken control of Litchfield and are refusing to back down until their demands are met.

Hackers, known as The Dark Overlord, leaked episodes of “OITNB” Season 5 ahead of the premiere. Many condemned the attack, which the group told The Hollywood Reporter was part of their quest to earn “vast amounts of Internet money,” while others tuned in. The impromptu release resulted in an increase in spoilers circulating online.

While some of the information about what’s to come in Season 5 of “OITNB” was a result of the Dark Overlord’s hack, others came from members of the cast themselves. Taylor Schilling, who plays Piper Kerman on “OITNB,” told CNN on Monday that “politics’ will play a major role in Season 5.

“Everything takes on more importance,” she said. “It was a nice confluence of art and life. In our own lives there was a lot of chaos, and in this prison there was a tremendous amount of chaos.”

This should come as no surprise to anyone who watched Season 4 of “OITNB,” which took on the Black Lives Matter movement and more. Wiley opened up about bringing the group’s message to the Netflix series in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She told the publication that her character’s death helped fans who previously may not have understood what BLM was fighting for feel their pain in a way.

“There are people who are watching television who might not have a personal relationship with Black Lives Matter, but they know Poussey,” she said of the iconic on-screen moment. “What I’ve been reading online from people is just this profound sadness, something that they can’t shake away. And that is exactly what Jenji [Kohan, the show’s creator] is wanting people to feel, she wants people to not be able to shake this off.”

In addition to a strong political message, “OITNB” Season 5 will be full of frights. Yael Stone, who plays Lorna Morello on the show, described the upcoming installment of the Netflix original as a “carnival of terror” in an interview with Daily Mail.

The Season 5 “OITNB” trailer was released May 9. The preview opens with Dayanara Diaz (Dascha Polanco) pointing a gun at two Litchfield guards while her fellow inmates urge her to pull the trigger. Their shared rage pushes the women to forget their groups, broken up by race, age, religion, etc., and unite to take down the powers that be.

Piper, Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), Tasty (Danielle Brooks), Red (Kate Mulgrew) and other fan favorite “OITNB” characters appear in the Season 5 trailer. Piper’s determined to join the resistance, no matter who she pisses off in the process, and she’s going to bring her posse with her. Others in the prison are participating out of sheer necessity.
