In “The Originals” Season 4, Klaus' (Jospeh Morgan, pictured here) daughter Hope (Summer Fontana) is in grave danger. The CW

It’s been an agonizingly long five years since Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) has seen his daughter Hope (Summer Fonatana). Now a 7-year-old girl with an acute understanding of her myriad powers, Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin) daughter becomes the focal point of “The Originals” Season 4.

In an extended trailer released yesterday by The CW, Hope finally meets her father and she knows who he is. “I know what you are,” she says, “The strongest in the world, strong enough to keep all the bad things away.” While Klaus may be strong, he certainly cannot keep all the bad things away.

Hayley is close to getting Hope’s father back but someone wonders if her daughter is better off without him. Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) also wonders the same thing. After all, he had Klaus as his father and look at how it turned out for him.

Unfortunately, Hope will need all the help she can get, including her father’s. Not only was she continuously drawing a serpent sigil after waking up from a bad dream in the Season 4 premiere of “The Originals,” but the trailer reveals that she is in grave danger. Someone or something is whispering her name and then a pack of crows die at her feet. Whatever the evil is, it’s coming and it’s still churning in the soil in New Orleans. Yikes.

Not to worry! Cami (Leah Pipes) is there (as a hallucination) to remind Klaus to do right by his daughter. Moreover, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) has a plan.

In Season 4, episode 2 of “The Originals,” Elijah and Hayley will attempt to rescue Klaus who is suffering from the effects of the Tunde blade.

Meanwhile, Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) will investigate a haunting that proves to be much more sinister than he imagined.

“The Originals” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
