Klaus (Jospeh Morgan, pictured here) is tortured by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) in “The Originals” Season 4. The CW

It’s time to sink your teeth in to “The Originals.” The epic werewolf-centered series returns to The CW with a brand new Season 4. Last season ended with Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) being walled in after being stabbed by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) with Papa Tunde’s knife.

Marcel emerged as the leader of New Orleans after taking Lucien’s (Andrew Lees) serum, poisoning Freya (Riley Voelkel) and biting Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Freya transported her and her siblings’ souls into a dream-like world so that Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) could get a chance to find various cures for all of their aliments.

Marcel, high on Lucien’s serum, became even more powerful than an original vampire. He quickly took Klaus’ throne.

What will happen in Season 4? Here are six things we know:

1. Episode 1 Synopsis

“The Originals” Season 4 premiere kicks off five years after the fall of the Mikalesons. Marcel continues to rule the French quarters. According to the synopsis, on the fifth anniversary of Klaus’ defeat, Marcel welcomes several un-sired vampires to his city. However, he soon realizes that they pose an unexpected threat to his rule.

Davis’ character has no choice but to turn to an unlikely source for advice: Klaus. In episode 1, we will see the Mikaelson family member being tormented and tortured by Marcel who has kept him chained and locked up.

Meanwhile, Hayley will get close to finding a cure for Marcel’s bite. She will wake up Elijah and the two lovers will have a dramatic reunion. However, before reuniting with the dapper blood sucker, she has to complete a final task that will force her to make a difficult decision.

2. Episode Titles

The CW has revealed the titles of the first few episodes of “The Originals” Season 4:

  • Episode 1 – “Gather Up The Killers”
  • Episode 2 – “No Quarter”
  • Episode 3 – “Haunter Of Ruins”
  • Episode 10 – “Phantomesque” (directed by Gillies)
  • Episode 12 – “Voodoo Child”

3. Cami Is Important In The Season 4 Premiere

Cami (Leah Pipes) may be dead but she will heavily feature in the Season 4 premiere. Not only will she return as a hallucination when Klaus is tortured by Marcel, but episode 1 will frequently mention her name. In fact, she will be more important than many living characters in “The Originals” Season 4 premiere.

4. Klaus And Hope’s Relationship Takes Center Stage

Hope Mikaelson (played now by Summer Fontana) is no longer a baby. When we meet the powerful young witch, she will be seven years old with a keen understanding of her abilities. The synopsis of episode 3 clearly states that she will be reunited with her father after five long years.

Klaus will try reconnecting with his daughter and aspire to be a good father to his offspring. He certainly has to make up for his long absence. “The Originals” will focus on this unique father-daughter relationship.

5. Alaric Saltzman From “The Vampire Diaries” Crosses Over To “The Originals”

Alaric (Matt Davis) will appear in one episode of Season 4 of “The Vampire Diaries” spin-off.

In fact, the former Occult professor is the one who informs Klaus about Caroline’s (Candice King) school for children with supernatural powers. Naturally, Klaus is interested in this school since it offers a future and education for Hope. Moreover, after learning about the school, he offers a generous donation to Caroline. It is after meeting Alaric that he sends Caroline a heartfelt letter in the series finale of “TVD.”

6. The Villain Is After Hope

Marcel isn’t the main villain in Season 4. A new threat emerges in New Orleans. This villain isn’t after power, it’s after Hope. In fact, the episode 3 synopsis teases of a powerful witch who plans to sacrifice a group of innocent children including Klaus’ daughter.

“The Originals” Season 4 premieres on Friday, March 17 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
