Orlando Brown has opened up about learning that his character Eddie in “That’s So Raven” has been recast for the upcoming spin-off.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Brown said that he doesn’t have ill feelings toward his former co-star Raven-Symone, who is producing the spin-off. He said that he understands the decision from a business point of view, but he also said that fans may be surprised by the choice to not let him reprise his role. Brown added that he’s happy for the person who got the role.

YouTuber Alonzo Lerone was tapped to play the character of Eddie in the spin-off. The YouTuber took to Twitter to share the news, saying: “So happy to announce that I will be replacing Eddie on ‘That’s So Raven 2’ as Raven’s love interest. Thank you @ravensymone.”

Brown had previously said that if it were up to him, he would like to be part of the upcoming series. He said in a video that he believes fans of the show deserve to see the original cast back together in the spin-off because they all contributed to the success of the original run. Brown also said that he already knows what the premise of the spin-off is and that he is happy with how the story will be told.

Meanwhile, the news about the recasting comes a few days after it was confirmed that Anneliese van der Pol is reprising her role as Chelsea in the spin-off. Chelsea is still Raven’s best friend on the show, according to E! News, and just like her bestie, she is also divorced. Chelsea and her son, Levin, will move in with Raven and her kids, Nia and Booker.

The “That’s So Raven” spin-off has not been given a premiere date, although writing for its pilot is already underway. Disney is also reportedly aiming for the show to start production in early 2017.
