Sam Heughan can add another trophy to his mantle. The “Outlander” star won a Saturn Award for best actor in a television series. His onscreen wife, Caitriona Balfe, was quick to congratulate him.

Heughan, who wasn’t present at the Hollywood awards ceremony, took to social media to say thank you. “Thank you @saturnawards and to everyone that voted! What a fantastic honour, to be surrounded by all those great actors, wizards, goblins, gangsters, zombies and aliens!” the Jamie Fraser actor wrote on Instagram.

Balfe quickly commented with several clapping and champagne emojis and an enthusiastic message. “Oh yeah!!!!! Always knew you were out of the world !!!! Congratulations telehubby,” the Claire actress commented.

It looks like the whole “Outlander” family is proud of Heughan. Sophie Skelton, who plays his daughter Brianna on the Starz show, and Tim Downie, who plays Lord Tyron, both said “well done.”

Heughan and Balfe had an additional exchange on Twitter to celebrate.

Heughan beat out Grant Gustin (“The Flash”), Kit Harington (“Game of Thrones”), Andrew Lincoln (“The Walking Dead”), Seth MacFarlane (“The Orville”), Bill Pullman (“The Sinner”) and Jeffrey Wright (“Westworld”) for the trophy.

The Scottish actor is busy filming “Outlander” Season 5, so he couldn’t attend in person. However, he sent in a video shown from the set where he thanked the fans who voted and promised to drink some whisky in celebration. (Conveniently, he’ll soon launch his own whisky brand, Sassenach Spirits.)

This is Heughan’s fifth nomination in the best actor category at the Saturn Awards, which honor fantasy, sci-fi and horror projects, but it was his first time winning. Balfe has won twice previously but lost this year to “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke. “Outlander” also lost best fantasy series to the HBO blockbuster series.

Unfortunately, that might be the only trophy “Outlander” takes home this month. The show was completely shut out of this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, the biggest awards for television shows. While the time travel drama never received acknowledgment in big categories, they have previously been nominated in technical categories, like best period costumes and best dramatic score. However, there wasn’t a single nomination this year.

“Outlander” Season 5 premieres Feb. 16 on Starz.
