Pop music legend Paul McCartney has officially become engaged to girlfriend Nancy Shevell, according to a report from CNN.

The couple have been dating for four years and first met in the Hamptons in the summer of 2007, according to People magazine.
Shevell, 51, a New Yorker is a member of the board of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority and also a trucking company executive.

This will be the ex-Beatle’s third time down the wedding aisle,

McCartney’s first wife, the former Linda Eastman, died of breast cancer in 1998, after nineteen years of marriage. Paul and Linda had four children: Heather (Linda’s child from a prior marriage but adopted by Paul), Mary, Stella and James.

Paul then married Heather Mills, a former model, in 2002. That marriage produced a daughter named Beatrice, but was otherwise a disaster, They divorced bitterly in May 2008 after a two-year separation.

Paul, now 68 years old, is one of only two surviving Beatles, along with Ringo Starr, who will turn 71 in July. George Harrison died in 2001, John Lennon passed in 1980.
